Fundador da SOBRAEP – Sociedade Brasileira de Eletrônica de Potência(1990), da qual é Presidente de Honra e Presidente do primeiro COBEP -Congresso Brasileiro de Eletrônica de Potência(1991). Em fevereiro de 2016 liderou a criação do IBEPE-Instituto Brasileiro de Eletrônica de Potência e atualmente é seu Diretor Presidente.
